A little bit about me – it will probably leave you with more questions than answers.
I am interested in concepts of self and identity and I won’t take a traditional route to talking about me.
I was born in sunny Florence in 1996 and grew up around there from an Italian man and a Romanian icon – mother, encompassing all meanings of the word. While I was schooled in Italy, I have also spent considerable time in Romania.
I have mostly studied humanities in different shapes and forms – from high school up until this moment. During my BA degree at The University of Florence, I signed up for a year abroad at the University of Birmingham, for the academic year 2020-2021. Later on, continuing my education, I took the rogue decision to stay in the United Kingdom
On this note, in terms of identity I particularly enjoy the word queer as it is by (non)definition anti-identitarian. Below, I will leave you with some quotes that might help you get an idea of who I am.
“I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am” – Sylvia Plath
Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar (1963)
“Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes)”
Walt Whitman, Song of Myself (1855)
